A source told The Sun: "Cheryl approached Dizzee about working together and they managed to rattle this course out in record time for the new album."
"It was all Cheryl's idea. She's a big fan of Dizzee and his collaborations with early artists. They got on very good and were on the same level."
They added: "It was merely a subject of time before the current king and king of pop came together. They had a good laugh. Dizzee had a light in his eye for her."
The X Factor judge has previously teamed up with the likes of Black Eyed Peas rapper Will.I.Am and Taio Cruz on tracks for her first solo release, 3 Words.
Dizzee has also had his fair deal of superstar collabos, after hooking up with Florence and the Machine, Calvin Harris, James Corden and more recently Shakira.
