Shrewdd News: Clugston senior management meets Baths Hall .

Clugston Group chairman, John Clugston and chief executive, Stephen Martin, recently joined Cllr Mark Kirk, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, John Sutherland, Vice President SMG Europe, and Nick Reed, Theatres Director SMG Europe, to celebrate the declaration that SMG Europe Holdings Ltd, has been chosen by the Council to control the famed Baths Hall.

he Baths Hall, a historic landmark in Scunthorpe, is currently being re-built by Clugston Construction, part of the Clugston Group of companies, after being awarded the 14.4million contract by North Lincolnshire Council, to have the 2000 capacity state of the art concert and entertainment venue.Around 70 new jobs will be created at the venue once completed.SMG, one of the world`s largest entertainment venue operators, is no alien to stars, having presented a broad assortment of internationally acclaimed artists including Madonna, the Vienna Philharmonic, Peter Kay and Kasabian.Expected to do at the Baths Hall are the likes of Jamie Cullum, Jack Jones, The Saturdays, Kate Nash, The Streets, Dizzee Rascal and many more top performing acts. It will likewise get a center for community events and conferences.Cllr Mark Kirk, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: "In less than a year`s time, people in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire and beyond will take a brand new state-of-the-art venue where they can enjoy top quality live music, comedy and theatre.He added: "The Baths Hall will be a grand building and it is set to position Scunthorpe as the region`s leading entertainment destination. The scale and flexibility of the Baths Hall will now merge with the established charm of the Plowright Theatre to leave the township with a retinue of entertainment facilities un-matched in most cities.Stephen Martin commented: "As a Scunthorpe based company we were proud to be selected to rebuild such a landmark building.
